In 1994, the world was changing. The end of the 20th century was on the horizon, technology was progressing, and throughout the world, accusations of Satanic practices had been on the rise for over a decade. In the Greater Toronto area, a group of people came together. Their shared interests in the demonic united them and years of watching the Satanic panic movement rise had empowered them. They had big plans for the turn of the century. On December 31st 1994, they gathered together in the living room of an old house nestled outside of the bustling city life. Deep into the night they crowded around a summoning circle, ancient tomes sat scattered across the floor, and depictions of a goat-like entity were plastered across the walls. The cultists waited for the right moment and began the summoning. The ritual stretched into the early morning hours and by the first signs of sunrise, she had been summoned. At the first dawn of 1995, Eden took her first steps in the mortal plane.Though Eden had been summoned by the cultists, she was disinterested in their plans for world destruction. She enjoyed watching them rush around and figured she’d spend some time on Earth to see how humans had advanced. Through a budding friendship with one of her followers, Eden was introduced to the wonders of the modern world: Gameboys, CDs, and Tamagotchis. Thus began Eden’s growing interest in human culture through the simple joys found in technology. The cultists were delighted in Eden’s new enthusiasm within the cult and took to the internet to spread their message further. They amassed many new followers, but they also alerted many others to their plans.Nearby a private research center was less than impressed by the cultists’ plot. They began to plan how they would counter their powerful adversary and save the world from its impending doom. During the following years, they would train and equip their own agent to face the task of incapacitating the demon. When the two finally met, it was late 1998. Eden had begun to explore the world under the guise of a human without prying eyes. The research center kept a close eye on the demonic entity with general ease, and Regi had recently been tasked with following said entity. His suit would have made the task easy had he needed to use it, but he was astounded to find that Eden tended to saunter from store window to window. She stopped frequently to take in everything she could see. Pure curiosity, not malice, seemed to fuel her explorations. His guard did not fall - she was a dangerous opponent - but his interest was equally piqued. This moment would be the start of their many encounters after. Eden looked forward to seeing the mysterious stranger and often kept to the secluded streets where her new companion could walk more freely. She snuck glances at his suit and asked questions from time to time, often to little response. She didn’t know why he was following her, but she was determined to learn all about him.Over time, Regi found himself folding to Eden’s charms and began to open up. Regi knew this was a job, he knew he needed to keep his wits about him, but he couldn’t deny that she didn’t seem like the world-ending danger he was tasked to take down. The way she’d pick up human customs, the playful jabs she’d make towards him, and especially the way her eyes would light up when he’d bring her some new trinket or bobble. He couldn’t deny he was falling hard and fast, much to the detriment of his mission.Nowdays you can find Eden playing games with her besties, streaming, and of course, light ritual sacrificing! All a part of running a cult... Am I right?
